This year's Inside Tour set revealed
Posted by Huw,
Although the Inside Tours will continue to run into the autumn this year, the embargo for revealing the exclusive model given to attendees has now passed.
Our friends over at Promobricks have published the first photos of it and, as a courtesy to those who are yet to attend, you'll find pictures and information after the break.
4000046 Inside Tour Anniversary Collection celebrates 20 years since the first tour was run.
It consists of six miniature models of previous exclusive sets: LIT2009 Ole Kirks House (2009), 4000001 Moulding Machines (2011), 4000014 The LEGOLAND Train (2014), 4000020 H.C. Andersen's Clumsy Hans (2015), 4000040 LEGO Fire Engine (2023), plus the very first one from 2005, LIT2005 LECA Automobile.

Cool! That’s pretty meta. I like it.
7/50 appeared on eBay yesterday with a price tag of £9086.72. It is sold this morning. Not to me I might add :-)

How can something like this happen?

I have no idea, but I am surprised to see it sold so quickly with that price. Whether a reduction was agreed I don’t know, but I can’t imagine it would have helped most of us lol

probably bought by duckbricks

It's certainly less interesting than something original, but I understand the reasoning for it.
I understand that this is an homage to previous sets. But these look awful. That car is terrible! If I paid $3000 yo be on this tour and received this set, I’d be pissed.

Not as crazy as paying millions for an ordinary banana that someone put on a wall ;-)

I actually really like the car! The callback to a callback is maybe a bit silly but I find the incredibly janky look to be quite charming alongside the other build styles
I really like the Fire Engine!
Unfortunately just another case of a great smaller set that isn't regularly available.
I think the set is amazing (well, I’ve been in the tour so probably it’s a biased opinion).
Anyway, the set was not sold for 9000, the offer has been accepted. Currently there are two sets on eBay, one is mine and reasonable offers are always welcome!

The car must be terrible, have you seen the first LIT set? It was designed by one of the Lego family members back then, not by a professional designer
Factory tour is definitely on my list of Things To Do.
Not my favorite but probably much more interesting to the general public (and definitely to me) than the Fabuland set

That started out as a hardly noticed part of Art Basel Miami.
Like Duchamp's urinals before, it's all a matter of publicity. "Voted the most influential artwork of the 20th century by 500 selected British art world professionals."
Of course, you know what they say about 500 British artists... 'bloody 'ell, wish I could figure out somethin'.'
Disclaimer: I've always admired the Parisian plebiscite piss pot.

I don't blame the artist for taping a banana to a wall, daring anyone to validate it as art. I blame the mouthbreathing cryptobro who bought the damned thing for "the dank memez". Or maybe - if I just dig deep enough and really devote myself to these events - I may just be able to find enough hate in my heart for both of them. I was kind of hoping that the follow-up news would be an informative article about potassium overdose, but no, banana-crypto-bro had to pop up in my feed recently because of some similarly disgustingly decadent dinner-party.
Oh! Ohhh, there it is. Didn't even have to dig all that deep. Mmm, that is some quality hate.
Anywyay, this set - I like the smaller version of the injection-moulding set. That was already a pretty great set in and of itself, but this makes it far more compatible with a minifigure-scale than 4000001 was.
Here, judge for yourself. Learn a thing. Forget about bananas and crypto-currency for a little while. Drown out the voices, if only for a moment.

It's an easy way to launder money. Someone in the origanization acquires collectible goods legally, then resells them to a known associate. Due to collectible prices varying so much, it's easy to justify higher resell prices, and it's even better for them if the sale is done anonymously.

I hear you, brother.
Life has become uneasy.
Miami Crypto-bros are the absolute worst humans on the planet.
I can’t wait for the 40th anniversary of the Inside Tour, where they have a mini version of these five mini models ??
These do look pretty nice. Man I want to go on the inside tour
This indeed does look like an Inside Tours set.

I was on an Inside Tour last year that included a couple of family groups, so they got multiple copies of the exclusive set. Not saying any of them did, but it’s not inconceivable that they might want to sell on one of their sets. It would pay for the whole trip!
Wish they went the route of Assembly Square when it comes to homage to past inside tour sets. They just feel like inferior versions of the previous inside tour sets instead. They should have done a unique spectacular build with little easter eggs that reference the past inside tour sets- that is something Assembly Square did referencing every past modular while still being its own unique thing.

I think the question was referring more to how an event-exclusive set that has just been announced winds up being sold before anyone has been handed a copy to own? Dirty shenanigans used to happen with the SDCC minifigs, too. In 2014, they had one DC minifig, one Marvel minifig, one LotR minifig, and one Unikitty. Since the event ran four days, each minifig was assigned to be handed out on a different day. The day before COMCON035 (The Collector) was stated to be available, someone posted a photo showing they'd managed to get their hands on a huge bag full of them. Additionally, I knew at least three people who have said they used to receive every SDCC minifig for free without having to actually attend SDCC. I know something of how the latter was happening (I myself was once handed the sterling silver and two white metal Krana-Kal outside of the official stated promotion), but I've never heard any explanation for how someone was allowed to walk off with at least a few dozen officially unreleased promotional minifigs of an extremely limited nature. I probably didn't involve money laundering, but it almost certainly involved actions that could have gotten someone fired if they came to light.

Surprised to hear that reaction. I went on the tour myself and had an amazing experience—those three days were packed with behind-the-scenes insights, meeting legendary LEGO designers, and seeing the magic of the design process up close. Honestly, even without the Inside Tour Set, it would’ve still been completely worth it
I attended this year's LIT 1 and was fantastic. Best experience ever, I will post my own video in the next few days; been applying for the last 4 years and finally got to attend. The set is pretty cool, maybe not as cool as the The Vault Memory Lane from 2024, but still pretty awesome with all the mini builds. I will update the link here once I upload the video.

Either you meant to type "crypto," or you're indifferent to Superman's dog. (Couldn't resist.)
The 4000046 LEGO Inside Tour Anniversary Collection set would have been better off as a LEGO House exclusive! It would sell like crazy. We attended last years LIT, fortunate but fiscally poorer for the most amazing of LEGO experiences! Our exclusive, 4000042 The Vault Memory Lane is an excellent model in concept and design... it's reflective of a key aspect of the tour (and contains a 3D printed duck!) This years set is a rehash, and frankly, I would have been disappointed in receiving it, noting the amazing and unique offerings over the past 20 years of LIT. Regardless, it is instantly collectible... noted by the crazy pricing... people will pay, of course.
@theseasentinel:
I'm sure there are a handful of individuals who have been making a point of collecting the entire series, even though I believe you're limited to one trip per lifetime.
But there are worse options. 2006 and 2008 don't appear to have had any set, 2007's was just 10190 in LIT packaging, and 2017's was rehashed as 4000026. Even though it also got repackaged as a LEGO employee exclusive, I still hold Ole Kirk's house as the best of the bunch, followed by Memory Lane. I actually wouldn't mind this one for the simple fact that it comes with a miniature version of the former.

LIT2009 Ole Kirk's House is one of those sets that forms part of the tour, and a magnificent example of uniqueness. 4000037 LEGO Factory AGV and the 4000012 Piper Airplane also relate to the tour... well, the story behind the Piper! There certainly are worse options, and odd rehashes from the past that you point out... 10190 is a strange one! I'm sure those that visited LIT 2025 all had a blast, thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and now join the LEGO black list... one LIT visit only, sadly. The greatest part of the tour is meeting new people from every walk of life. I certainly chat everyday on our LIT 5/24 group, from DK, to HK, the US, and beyond.

No.

I like some of these, (I don't have much display space) I may build the house, the train and/or injection molding machine when the instructions are available.
I don't understand why it says 7/50 - there is more than 50 people attending an Inside Tour each year isn't it?
I like seeing the LIT exclusives when they're announced. They're such cool little celebrations of LEGO.
I'd love to be able to go on the tour myself, but that just isn't gonna happen. Short of having one of those wormholes that lets you see the other end, the ones where traversal is as quick as stepping across the threshold into your destination... I'm never seeing Denmark (or pretty much anywhere else) in person.

It'll be 50 per tour: the box is unique for each tour because it has a photo of the attendees on the back.

I went with my wife in 2018 and there was a person there who'd been on an earlier tour, so you're not restricted to only one, but I guess it depends more on willingness to spend large amounts of money, particularly since if you've been once the second trip is less special. The only reason I'd go again would be after my daughter grows up a bit, if she particularly wanted to go I might think about saving up to take her....
Personally I treat the sets we received more as souvenir and although I've thought about selling one and keeping the other, I like having them displayed together, one unopened and the other set made up. Even if the sets themselves are nothing special they make a great souvenir of the trip!
If selling it pays for the cost of the tour then why not? For the buyer, why not just go on the tour rather than buying if your intention is as an investment just to resell again in the future?
Like the collection - some sets are... meh, and some are really good!
I didn't know that Market Street was also the 2007 LEGO Inside Tour exclusive.
